  • Men, Your Genitals are Sacred

The world looks at a man’s genitals as just his play toy, a source of pleasure, enjoyment, even recreational fun, and when the time is “right”, a tool for propagation. For the young “getting laid” can be a major motivation and preoccupation. There is no consciousness of sin, or Biblical boundaries of behavior. Abstinence is mocked; celibacy is scorned. Sex and its free expression are supreme.

    Sadly the church sometimes
    gives the impression that
    a man’s “family jewels” are
    anything but valuable.

Sadly the church sometimes gives the impression that a man’s “family jewels” are anything but valuable, except under very rigid conditions. Under the right circumstances within marriage there is value, but outside of that our penis is a continual problem.

God’s view is vastly different from that of the world, and even more vastly different from that of most of the church. God sees a man’s cock and balls as sacred.

    False Religions

Because God has displayed truth in nature, and hidden it in the heart of man, other faith traditions have some hints of the sacredness of male genitalia, but no full revelation.

The worshippers of Baal understood that an erect penis is a powerful thing, but they failed to apply moral laws as to its use, in fact just the opposite. This was a fertility cult whose god was lord over fruitfulness, both human and agricultural. They practiced “sacred prostitution”, a contradiction in terms if there ever was one. Their temples had both male and female prostitutes and their altars were shaped like an erect phallus. There worship included horrendous and repulsive acts of sexual excesses and perversions including bestiality which Baal himself was thought to have committed. No wonder the worship of Baal was so soundly condemned by God.

They brought out the sacred pillars of the house of Baal and burned them. They also broke down the sacred pillar of Baal and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a latrine to this day. Thus Jehu eradicated Baal out of Israel.2 Kings 10:26-28 (NASB)

The Message Bible paraphrases it this way, “They hauled out the sacred phallic stone from the temple of Baal and pulverized it. They smashed the Baal altars and tore down the Baal temple. It’s been a public toilet ever since. And that’s the story of Jehu’s wasting of Baal in Israel.

The Bible’s View of Male Genitals

    The Word of God
    makes it very clear
that a man’s cock and balls
    are not just significant to him;
    they are very sacred
    in the eyes of God.

The view of the world is degrading to man and his “junk.” The view of the church is limited. The view of false religions like the Baalites and others is truth perverted. But the Bible is not silent about the most marvelous part of man’s physicality. The Word of God mentions male genitals several times and makes it very clear that a man’s cock and balls are not just significant to him; they are very sacred in the eyes of God. Now you must admit, that is very good news!

There were several interesting references to a man’s genitals that hint at how God felt about them. For one thing, hose with ritually mutilated genitalia were at a distinct disadvantage. To serve as a priest a man’s balls needed to be intact.

    Priest’s Penis and Balls Examined

No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord. Deuteronomy 23:1 (NASB)

While some ancient religions worshipped the male sex organ, others eliminated it through ritual and cultic mutilation, thinking it a hindrance. And anyone who had undergone such a thing was unable to enter the assembly of the Lord. Nor could a man with imperfect balls or without a penis serve as a priest, so having your balls examined was part of the entrance requirement. That must have been an interesting experience!

And no matter what the situation, you didn’t mess with another man’s manhood!

    Hands Off the Family Jewels

If two men, a man and his countryman, are struggling together, and the wife of one comes near to deliver her husband from the hand of the one who is striking him, and puts out her hand and seizes his genitals, then you shall cut off her hand; you shall not show pity. Deuteronomy 25:11-12 (NASB)

There were severe consequences if a woman interfered in a fight between two men by grabbing one man’s cock or balls. You just didn’t mess with a man and his “junk”! To do that was to interfere with the sacred, and to potentially rob a family line of its progeny.

But the most significant passage involves Abraham and his servant.

Hold My Cock and Balls Please

Now Abraham was old, advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in every way. Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his household, who had charge of all that he owned, “Please place your hand under my thigh, and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I live, but you will go to my country and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac.” Genesis 24:1-4 (NASB)

When Abraham told his servant to “place your hand under my thigh” the Hebrew word for thigh meant the male genitals. It was a discrete way of saying cup my genitals; hold my cock and balls in your hand. This is because a man taking an oath must hold something sacred in his hand. A man’s genitals are sacred for several reasons.

    • First, just being a marvel of God’s creation makes a man’s genitals sacred. Men are made in God’s image. And a man’s genitals are what make him most distinctly male.
    • Second, here is where our seed comes from, and in Abraham it is where the Messiah came forth.
    • Third, Abrahams’ penis was circumcised. God considered the penis sacred enough to make it into a sign of His covenant.
    • Then the act of circumcision itself made Abraham’s penis holy.

And you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and you. Genesis 17:11

Just imagine, the male genitals are so highly esteemed in the eyes of God he chose them to carry the sign of His covenant with humanity. His circumcised cock represented the fullness of God’s covenant with Abraham and Abraham’s obedient walk of faith with God. Because this sacred act was performed on it Abraham’s penis was made even more holy. The word thigh was used both to be more discrete, and because the Hebrews had a reluctance toward speaking sacred words.

    Sacred Oath

    Sacred Oath.

Today we use the Bible in our courtrooms because it is esteemed as the most sacred and revered thing we possess. In Abrahams’ day a man’s genitals were regarded the same way. This understanding was passed down through the generations.

Genesis 47:29 (NASB) When the time for Israel to die drew near, he (Jacob) called his son Joseph and said to him, “Please, if I have found favor in your sight, place now your hand under my thigh and deal with me in kindness and faithfulness. Please do not bury me in Egypt,

Later in the time of Rome when a man had to swear an oath he would grab his crouch; put his right hand on his genitals and swear to tell the absolute truth. If a man committed perjury he was castrated.

Both Abraham’s and Jacob’s servants were making a sacred oath, and words like testament, testimony, testicles, test, testify, the WORD, and a Man's Word are all related. The word testimony, as when we have to give testimony in a court, comes from “testi”, or testicles, the organ from which the seed of life originates and the source of a man’s progeny and legacy. But neither Abraham nor Jacob got their servant to hold their own cock and balls, but Abraham’s and Jacob’s, seeing as it was Abraham’s seed and Jacob’s remains that were the object of the oath.

So men, celebrate! That wonderful member of your body you hide in your pants, hold in your hand, and with which you make love to your wife is sacred! On the rest of the pages in this Male section of the website we are going to look religious nonsense in the face and inspired by the Word of God celebrate the magnificence of God’s artistry in the form of the naked man. We will celebrate his balls and his cock, both flaccid and erect, big, small and in between, excited, more excited, being stroked and ejaculating, in doors and in nature, in every conceivable place and position. Why? Because, contrary to so much that is written about the “problem” of male sexuality, God made the male body good. It is a magnificent part of His creation and a joy to own and a beauty to behold.

    Imagine the Liberty!

    It is time we finally
    remove the cloak of shame,
    eliminate the pain,
    and rejoice in being male
and all that being male means.

What if a man’s penis, and his sexual desire, his inclination to look, and even the act of masturbation are really not “Every Man’s Problem” as we have been led to believe? What if lust has been poorly defined and wrongly applied to situations that are perfectly legitimate in the eyes of our God? What if our genitals really are sacred?

You are a man. You have a cock. Your cock gets hard. When it gets hard it wants attention. When given attention it is enveloped in wonderful sensations. When these sensations increase there is an explosion of pleasure. When there is an explosion of pleasure you ejaculate. These are all wonderful, amazing, magnificent and God glorifying.

It is time we finally remove the cloak of shame, eliminate the pain, and rejoice in being male and all that being male means. Yes, there are guidelines for what we are to do with our bodies, but again I say, God made the male body and male genitals good. In fact they are more than good. They are HOLY. Praise God; Amen.
