The Terrible Taboo
There is a spot on the human anatomy that it seems it is regarded by almost all as quite terrible, so terrible and so obscene that even Hollywood, with its strong proclivity toward showing naked flesh, is reluctant to reveal, at least most of the time.
I have seen the beauty of the female form over and over again, sometimes in all of its glory.
I have seen cleavage, sometimes down to the belly button.
I have seen short skirts, so high, so tight,
so clinging that one wonders how they move,
and especially how they sit down.
I have seen translucent, even transparent tops,
and clothes specifically designed to reveal the lacy underwear beneath,
or the fact that there is no underwear beneath at all.
And in the movies I have seen bare buttock,
And beautiful bare breast,
During on screen lovemaking I have seen breasts,
even breasts being touched, caressed, kissed, and suckled.
And even exposed bush from time to time.
During on screen lovemaking I have seen breasts, even breasts being touched, caressed, kissed, and suckled.
But as naked as the female on screen can get, as intimately as she can be revealed, as much as she can be exposed and fondled, there is one thing that is almost never seen, even in scenes that depict the splendor of sex. There is a piece of human anatomy that lies below the belly button, above the knees, and between the thighs that is almost never exposed. So, let me as this simple question. Just what is it about a penis of which we are so afraid?
It was not always this way. If you look at some ancient art there he stands, in all his glory; naked chest, legs, buttocks, thighs, and lo and behold, penis and scrotum. And not just a lump where the penis should be, but an actual penis with hair, shaft, and well shaped penis head all shown in glorious intimate detail. And sometimes even in all of its rigid, erect glory!
Well, at least in sculpture. Just look at Michelangelo’s David. From any angle, a truly beautiful piece of art.
And some of his and other’s sketches.
But continuing on into modern times it seems that naked women in their entire splendor can be photographed with somewhat impunity, but the beauty of the fully naked male is sadly neglected.
Sculpture, yes; sketches, good; paintings, ok; photos and film, not so much. So just what is that all about?
Here is a handsome young man.
Here is a handsome young man in his swim suit.
Here are several in their underwear.
If you look closely you just know what they are hiding behind that thin, stretchy layer of fabric. There is a bulge, and the obvious shape of something, something scary (?), something frightening (?), and something vulgar (?) Or is it merely a few inches of human flesh designed and shaped by the hand of the master artist, the artist all others are merely emulating? Why the taboo?
Why can it only be shown covered by fabric? Why can it at the most only be shown covered by thin, stretchy form fitting fabric, but not minus those few square inches of cloth?
Why can we see just above it, but not the member itself.
So, do I dare, here on this site, show more?
Perhaps I can show just below it.
Or maybe just to the side of it.
Why not just show a photo of a naked young man
in all of his glory with everything being shown
as the beautiful thing that God created it to be.
Why not go all the way
and show the full beauty of the male anatomy
in it's many expressions, just the way God made it.
Let's really look at it,
up close, and personal.
